Chipped, cracked, or otherwise damaged teeth can be brought back to great form and function through porcelain dental restorations. Some of the highest quality restorations are crafted using an incredible piece of dental technology called the CEREC® system. Cypress dentists Ty and Susan Caldwell insist on using the most advanced pieces of dental technology, and employ the CEREC® system for crowns, inlays, and onlays. Unlike traditional dental restorations, CEREC® restorations can be fitted, crafted, and placed in a single appointment.
To learn more about the CEREC® system, contact our practice in Cypress to schedule a consultation with our doctors. Proudly serving the greater Orange County area, our dental team is committed to helping you attain a beautiful and functional smile.
How CEREC® Works
The CEREC® system uses a special digital camera in conjunction with computer-aided design software to plan out three dimensional models of the porcelain restoration. Special care is taken to ensure that the restoration precisely matches the patient's existing teeth. Using these accurate digital models, a high-tech milling machine begins to craft the dental restoration right in our office. Restorations are made out of durable, tooth-colored ceramic for durability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Once completed, the restoration is bonded to the tooth using a special dental resin. This same-day restoration process eliminates the need for temporary crowns or multiple office visits.
CEREC® restorations offer indisputable aesthetic beauty to your smile. They blend in with the rest of your teeth, creating uniformity and functionality. Our CEREC® machine has the ability to create dental crowns, which encase an entire tooth, and inlays or onlays, which offer beautifying and strengthening benefits to damaged teeth. Most patients are extremely satisfied with their restored smiles, and experience improved chewing, biting, and speaking.
