DR. TY CALDWELL: Cosmetic imaging is a great way for a patient to see what their teeth will look like before we do a single thing to them. All we have to do is take a digital image, and then we have special software that will show you what your teeth will look like when they're all done. I can't show you something that I can't duplicate. I have to make sure that as I design this, I can actually give you that result. But at the end of the day it's great to be able to say, "Hey, if I trust you, Dr. Caldwell, to do my work, what will my teeth look like?" And we can show you that. In the old days, you had to take my word for it, and sometimes patients would get the results that they wanted and sometimes they didn't, and when they didn't, it wasn't in this office, so I've seen some sad faces come in, and we've had to redo some work. It's really great to present imaging to a patient, because usually I'll send them home and I'll do the procedure, and when they come back I'll say, "This is your before, and this is the after." And they just can't believe that that could even be done, and when they see it, they start to get emotional, thinking of the possibilities of how they would feel if their teeth could look like that, because that opens a lot of doors. You know, in this day and age, it opens doors for relationships, and jobs--it just changes their lives.
