DR. SUSAN CALDWELL: Invisalign is a great clear alternative to braces. It allows people to be able to eat and smile during treatment. The process is very simple--we utilize clear trays that you can't see. You can talk all day long and you really don't know that you have them in unless you're telling somebody that you're going through the process. How it works is every tray is switched out approximately every two weeks until the treatment's done--so it's a computer-generated 3-D treatment plan, and we take custom molds of your mouth. I know where you're started, where you want to go, so I'm the quarterback--I say from A to Z. We generate a computer-generated program, and then each aligner is made to be switched out every two weeks. What's really great about this process is that they can see their changes. When they're at home, they can actually see where they started, and every two weeks, they can see the change taking place, and that gives people reason to be joyful and that they've made the right decision. It's easy, it's comfortable, they can still floss their teeth, and they can take the trays out to eat when they go out to eat with their friends, versus the traditional braces. Invisalign is wonderful--they don't call you metal mouth. It's quick, it's easy, and it's a wonderful experience.
